Look how big they’ve grown! I’ve started to use the compost that just got mature and they are working oh so well, nothing beats treating your soil well and giving your plants what they deserve.

Inspired by William Bryant Logan’s acclaimed book Dirt: The Ecstatic Skin of the Earth, Dirt! One of my favourite documentary on how we as humans actually have so much relation with dirt.

house plants :)

i’m currently growing some bell pepper plants and a small chili plant is starting to sprout at the side of the bed. i used some alfafa pellets as mulch and nitrogen, ground egg shells for calcium, epsom salt for magnesium and also a little bit of coffee grounds. hopefully it will start flowering in a couple of weeks! 🙂

On the bottom I have some black mustard sprouting! let see how it’s doing in a couple of days.

note: most pepper plants likes more alkaline growing medium and mustard likes more acidic. if slugs or snails start appearing in your soil or plants, it’s a indication that your soil is lacking calcium. they are there to help produce calcium by slimming around but they need to survive too, so they chomp! 😉
